At the "Tokyo Sake Challenge 2025" competition held in Tokyo, our assemblage sake "Assemblage Club 3 CODE NAME: Taro' (Taro Dash)", developed and produced by our company and three Kyoto sake breweries (Masuda Tokubei Shoten, Kitagawa Honke, and Matsui Sake Brewery), won the gold prize alongside many other famous sakes!

The Tokyo Sake Challenge is being held in collaboration with the SSA Sake Sommelier Association, which is committed to educating and promoting sake, and Obsessed with Japan GK.

This assemblage opens a new chapter in the world of sake through a miraculous blend that transcends the boundaries of sake breweries. This high evaluation, following on from the Milan Sake Challenge and Singapore Sake Challenge 2024, which it won last year, shows new possibilities for assemblage.

■What is the Tokyo Sake Challenge 2025?

The international sake tasting competition "Sake Challenge", which has been successfully held in London, Milan, Bordeaux, Luxembourg and Singapore, is finally being held for the first time in Japan, the birthplace and center of Japanese sake culture. A wide range of sakes were entered, including not only traditional sakes but also unique categories that have recently become more well-known, such as aged sake, craft sake and doburoku.
Through this competition, we hope to rediscover the depth of sake, create new trends, and bring sake to a wider range of new customers, thereby raising the level of the entire sake brewing industry.
In addition, the Tokyo Sake Challenge 2025 will provide feedback in English with a view to promoting the submitted sakes overseas and expanding their sales channels, supporting their challenge to enter the global market from Tokyo.

What is assemblage? / Infinite flavors born from combinations

Assemblage refers to the traditional technique of blending raw wines, and is the mainstream method in France, Italy, Spain, and other countries. Bordeaux wine and Champagne have always been world representatives, thanks to the complex flavors and aromas that can only be created by combining different wines. It has also become clear that there are flavors in sake that can only be achieved through assemblage, such as layering flavors and rounding off edges. In addition to the fermentation techniques used by the master brewer, assemblage techniques can broaden the flavors of sake even further.
