Leaf Publications, a Kyoto-based company that operates the sake business SakeWorld, has collaborated with two modern Japanese luxury hotels, soyo-ne and soyo-ka, which opened in Sanjo, Kyoto in September 2025, to develop an original sake exclusively for guests. What's great about this is that guests can enjoy it for free.

The original blended sake was created at My Sake World, a sake blending experience facility, and is a product of the hotel's development staff's heartfelt passion.

The brand concept of "soyo-ne" and "soyo-ka" is "Accumulating time, discovering the timeless charm of 'today'." The two hotels, nestled in the quiet streets of Kyoto, are based on the themes of "sound" and "fragrance," respectively, and are designed to allow guests to experience Kyoto with all five senses. Home to Fushimi, one of Japan's three major sake-producing regions, Kyoto also offers sake, an element that speaks to all five senses. The hotel was developed with the desire to create a hotel stay that not only exudes tranquility and spaciousness through its deliberately "not overstuffed" interior, but also allows guests to enjoy the sake, which soothes the soul. Intoxicated, will your thoughts wander to the Heian period? Or perhaps the end of the Edo period? Enjoy Kyoto as you travel back in time.

Original Japanese sake "soyo-ne"
A deep, calming base of sake is blended with sake that stands out for its fresh acidity, resulting in a taste that expresses the "stillness" and "movement" of Kyoto.

Original Japanese sake "soyo-ka"
Based on the theme of fragrance, the sake is a blend of fruity and gorgeously scented sake and sweetly scented, dry and refreshing sake, expressing the world of soyo-ka.

The hotel was designed with the theme of "sound" in mind, with the history of Fuyacho Street, where gagaku music and poetry once reverberated, as its backdrop. The hotel is filled with a space filled with tranquility, where you can enjoy a gentle time accompanied by the atmosphere of Kyoto, making you want to listen carefully. The room type is a standard twin (approximately 50 m² / 1-4 people).

This hotel's design incorporates the "memories of scent" that emerge from the seasonal scents drifting along Sakaimachi Street and the flavors of long-established restaurants. Guests can enjoy a stay that fully encompasses the senses, with rooms offering views of the dry landscape garden from the bathroom and a large public bath enveloped in tranquility. There are two room types: Standard Twin (approx. 48.5 m² / 1-4 people) and Deluxe Twin (approx. 89.6 m² / 1-6 people).

My Sake World

With the motto "Fall in love with sake even more," this is a new sake experience facility where you can create your ideal taste by blending sake. Currently, it operates two stores: My Sake World Oike Bettei and My Sake World Kyoto Kawaramachi. The blending method makes it possible to develop custom-made sake in small batches, which was previously difficult. Numerous collaborations with restaurants and companies have been created. It is also recommended as a commemorative item for openings, anniversaries, etc.
