On Thursday, September 2023, 9, a press briefing on "Sake World NFT" was held at the Kyoto Prefectural Former Government Office, jointly held by Leaf Publications Co., Ltd., Kyoto Prefecture, and Kyoto City.

This service is a marketplace that sells sake exchange tickets in NFT format, and is scheduled to launch in late November.

The appeal is that not only can users choose how to store their sake, such as freezing or aging, but they can also resell their tickets.Currently, 32 breweries have decided to participate, and they are aiming for 250 breweries in the future.

Kyoto Prefectural Governor Takatoshi Nishiwaki said, ``This is a lively initiative to expand demand for sake.If conducted well, it will also be a boon for Japanese industry.''

Kyoto City Mayor Daisaku Kadokawa said, ``We're in a very difficult situation where Japanese people don't know about sake. I want to spread the appeal of sake throughout Japan, and eventually to the rest of the world.''

Observer Tokubei Masuda said, ``I've been involved with Leaf for 10 years, but when I heard about this story that combines the latest technology and tradition, I couldn't help but get excited.''I couldn't help but work on aging and freezing. I think there are a lot of sake breweries out there, so it's amazing what can be achieved through NFT," he says, expressing his hopes for the initiative.

After the press conference, there was a tasting of old sake, frozen sake, and sake made using the "assemblage" technique of blending several types of sake.

The press conference allowed people to experience the potential of Japanese sake by learning about the differences in taste caused by different storage methods and the unique taste of assemblage.
