Four breweries in Fushimi, Kyoto - Kinshi Masamune, Shotoku Sake Brewery, Kitagawa Honke, and Saito Sake Brewery - will hold their brewery openings on Saturday, October 4, 2024. There will be a lot of events planned with each brewery's taste in mind, including tastings of limited edition sake that is not usually available. All four breweries are within walking distance, so you can enjoy Fushimi's delicious sake to your heart's content while taking a leisurely stroll under the autumn sky.

Kinshi Masamune "Autumn Brewery Opening"

Founded in 1781 (the first year of Tenmei), Kinshi Masamune has grown alongside Kyoto's beautiful water. On the day of the brewery opening, there will be tastings and sales of a wide variety of alcohol and food, including Kinshi Masamune sakes, sakes exclusive to that day, and local beer from Kyoto Machiya Beer Brewery. There will also be stage events and food stalls where you can enjoy the proud dishes of each store, making this an event that can be enjoyed not only by sake lovers but also by those who are not so familiar with sake.

Shotoku Sake Brewery "Shotoku Brewery Opening"

Founded in 1645 (Shoho 2), Shotoku Sake Brewery is committed to brewing pure rice sake, believing that "pure rice sake is the true form of sake." On the day of the brewery opening, you can taste standard sakes as well as limited edition and rare sakes that are not usually available, and there will be food stalls where you can enjoy snacks that go well with the sake, making it a must-see for sake lovers. There will also be rare products for sale that are only available on the day, so if you're interested, we recommend going early.

Kitagawa Honke Tomio “New Sake Festival”

Founded in 1657 (Meireki 3), Kitagawa Honke has been brewing sake in Fushimi for over 360 years. The brewer of the famous sake "Tomo", the brewer has won the gold medal at the National New Sake Tasting Competition 21 times in total. On the day of the New Sake Festival, you can enjoy tastings and purchases of sake including the event-exclusive "Junmai Ginjo Unfiltered Raw Unpasteurized Sake", as well as sake tastings and gourmet food from local restaurants. Only 400 bottles of the limited edition sake will be available for sale on the day, so be careful not to sell out!

Saito Sake Brewery Eikun "Kura-kai 2024 Autumn"

Saito Sake Brewery is known as the brewer of the sake "Eikun," and has won the gold medal at the National New Sake Tasting Competition for 14 consecutive years. On the day of the brewery opening, in addition to free sake for the first 300 people, there will be a tasting and sake tasting challenge where you can enjoy the brewery's pride and joy, including "Ichigin Junmai Daiginjo," starting with a single glass, as well as a snack corner with a tent booth and a food truck, making for a lineup that allows you to fully experience the charms of "Eikun."
