[KURA ONE®] New project "Re:Local" launched
Crowdfunding & [SAKEICE] collaboration event also held
KURA ONE®, which expresses the unique characteristics of regional sake in cans, will launch its new series "Re:Local" on November 1, 2025. Based on the concept of "Taste the Region," they have developed "unpasteurized sake cans" that can be distributed at room temperature and contain local sake from breweries in nine regions across the country. In addition, crowdfunding will be conducted on Makuake, and rewards include limited special sets of ice cream made from the same local sake. Try tasting and comparing the terroirs brewed in each region.
The following nine breweries have teamed up with KURA ONE® this time.
・Hokkaido/Hakodate Brewery/Kitashizuku
・Yamagata/Yonezuru Sake Brewery/Yonezuru Junmai Dry
・Chiba/Iwase Sake Brewery/Iwanoi Yamada Nishiki Junmai
・Toyama / Yoshinotomo Sake Brewery / Go Yamada Nishiki Junmai Daiginjo Nama Genshu
・Shizuoka/Sanwa Shuzo/Garyubai/Yamada Nishiki Junmai Ginjo Nama
・Shiga / Mifuku Sake Brewery / Mifuku Autumn Poem Junmai Ginjo Nama
Okayama / Toshimori Brewery / Sake Ichimichi Omachi Junmai Ginjo Unpasteurized
・Kagawa / Kawatsuru Sake Brewery / Kawatsuru Yamada Nishiki Junmai Ginjo
・Saga / Amabuki Brewery / Amabuki Sagano Hana Special Junmai Moonflower Yeast Nama Genshu
With the brand concept of "communicating the region and the sake brewery," each can not only displays the name of the brewery, but also a map showing the year of establishment and location, as well as the characteristics and special features of the flavor, and a taste chart showing the quality of the sake. KURA ONE acts as a mirror that reflects the sake brewery in a single can.

"Re:Local," which will be released three years after its original release in January 2023, will respect the bottle while also challenging itself to achieve the quality currently possible with cans, and will be developed as a "canned sake that can be distributed at room temperature."
The filling work was outsourced to Kikusui Sake Brewery in Niigata Prefecture, which has 50 years of experience in manufacturing sake cans, and the cans were produced using the latest equipment and knowledge.
With general sales scheduled to begin in 2026, wholesale orders are being accepted in advance from domestic and international restaurants, liquor stores, high-end supermarkets, inns and hotels, airports and duty-free shops, and inbound-related businesses.
Additionally, crowdfunding will be conducted on Makuake from November 1st to December 30th. In conjunction with the project, rewards will include limited edition sets of ice cream made using sake from "Re:Local."

The sake ice cream was developed by SAKEICE, Japan's first sake ice cream specialty store. At their directly managed store in Yaesu, Tokyo, a tasting event will be held from October 25th to December 21st where customers can enjoy two types of sake ice cream for free. Although these are different products from the reward items, this is a rare opportunity to "prepare" for the rich sake ice cream developed by the brand.

KURA ONE will offer four "surprises" through "Re:Local": "1) Delivering the finest contents as they are," "2) The experience of "raw" food at room temperature," "3) Lightness that takes you far into the region," and "4) Water speaks, proof of the region."
Based on a track record of transporting goods to 50 countries around the world and small parcel air freight delivery to 100 countries, we are adding context to the brand by making it one that not only "communicates" but also "delivers."
