Located in Tako Town, Katori County, Chiba Prefecture, about a 30-minute drive from Narita Airport, the Workers' Cooperative Sake Brewery does everything with their own hands, from clearing the land to growing rice and brewing sake.
The company was founded in 2024 with five members, and aims to launch its own sake brewery in 2029, with a future vision of turning the entire Tako area into a common (shared property).

The crowdfunding campaign, which began on January 21, 2026, on CAMPFIRE, is a second attempt to raise funds to purchase a turbo sawmill to cut down the lumber used as building materials for the sake brewery. The mountain owner has already given their permission to cut down the trees.

In return, they will also be offering sake brewed by Sake Brewery. While last time it was sake, this time it will be doburoku.
With the aim of establishing a sake brewery in 2029, Sake Brewery is currently known as the Phantom Brewery. As a manufacturing site is required for sake brewing, Tokun Brewery, a long-established sake brewery in Katori City, Chiba Prefecture, is providing the space.
The reason they decided to try their hand at doburoku was because they had issues with the squeezing process in their previous sake, and so they came up with the idea of releasing something that is still in its unsqueezed state. They also commercialized a liqueur called "Yuzu Doburoku" that contains yuzu, a Tako specialty.

Sake Brewery's slogan is "Let's build a sake brewery for everyone."
The second challenge, which makes use of Tako's natural resources, will run until February 28th.
