"THE CALENDAR BIWAKO TOURISM", a sake bar and select shop where you can enjoy 16 types of local sake, will open at Otsu Station in Shiga on November 29, 2025!
The first floor of "THE CALENDAR," a complex directly connected to JR Otsu Station, has been renovated to become a new spot where local residents and travelers can casually enjoy local sake and the charms of Shiga.
THE CALENDAR BIWAKO TOURISM: A new spot where you can casually enjoy local sake and the charms of Shiga
The facility will have a coin-operated sake dispenser that allows customers to enjoy more than 16 types of local sake, starting with a single cup, and will also have a new standing bar where customers can enjoy local cuisine and bar menus. It will also have a select shop stocking local specialties and popular products from the prefecture, and a luggage storage service to meet the needs of travelers.

The newly established corner is a standing bar where you can enjoy your favorite local sake from a coin-operated server. You can stop by during your trip or on your way home from work and enjoy the "Japanese sake experience in front of the station."
There are always over 16 varieties of local sake on offer from 30 breweries in Shiga Prefecture. The sake is carefully selected by staff who are JSASAKE DIPLOMA certified. You can enjoy your favorite sake in just one cup (45cc) using the coin-operated server, and you can also purchase some of your favorite brands.
・1 coin: 350 yen
・ Tasting set (3 coins): 1,000 yen

The adjacent select shop offers a wide selection of local specialties and souvenirs from all over Shiga Prefecture, bringing the charm of the prefecture to tourists and locals alike. It also offers a luggage storage service, making it even more convenient for those using the station.
As a "hub of interaction" where local residents and tourists can interact, we will promote the appeal of the region through food and alcohol.
