As you enter the alley of Shijo Takakura, you will find a 100-year-old Kyoto townhouse.
Meshidokoro Pochi, which opened in April 2023 as the successor to Denki Shokudo, has a completely new menu while keeping the interior the same.
Creative dishes such as seasonal fish, oden, tempura, and kamameshi are updated once every few days.
Since taking over the restaurant, we have put a special emphasis on fresh fish, which has transformed into a special dish that stands out from other restaurants.
They also have a wide variety of sake that goes well with sake, and the store has a wide selection of sake from all over the country, mainly from Kyoto.

The large counter on the first floor can accommodate up to 1 people. The second floor is a semi-private room with 10 tables, which can be reserved for 2 to 5 people.The lighting visible from the atrium creates a perfect atmosphere.
Dishes that go well with sake

Assorted sashimi 2,400 yen including tax
6 types: straw-grilled bonito, medium bluefin tuna, konbujime red sea bream, octopus teppai, shime mackerel, and amberjack.The carefully selected tuna is purchased from a wholesaler specializing in tuna.The bonito is straw-grilled at the store.You can enjoy seasonal fish at any given time.

Komai oil sardine 650 yen including tax
The sub-ice fish from Hokkaido tastes like sandfish.Simmered in oil for 5 hours, it is so tender that you can eat it down to the bones.The soy sauce that is added at the end is traditional soy sauce from Inoue Soy Sauce Store in Shimane Prefecture.By finishing it in a Japanese style, it goes much better with sake.

Instantly smoked duck 1,000 yen including tax
The duck cooked at a low temperature is moist and soft.The homemade sauce is made by boiling vegetables with mirin and soy sauce and letting it sit for a week for a deep flavor.They are flavored with a smoke gun just before serving, and when you open the glass lid, the aroma of hickory spreads out.

We want people to choose our products without being influenced by price, so each sake bottle costs 1 yen including tax.When it comes to sake, the owner, Mr. Tominaga, says, ``If you choose your own sake, your tastes will be biased, so go to a liquor store.If you were opening your own store, we had you carefully select 950 types of sake.''
I love hot sake so much that I drink hot sake instead of cold beer as a chaser in the summer.

Junmai Ginjo Tenpu (Kagoshima Prefecture/Nishi Sake Brewery)
This sake is made by Nishi Sake Brewery, which is famous for the sweet potato shochu "Takayama."The gorgeous and mellow aroma spreads throughout your mouth, while the after-drinking sensation is pleasant.It goes well with a wide variety of dishes as an accompaniment to a meal, but the restaurant recommends pairing it with fish, which has a strong umami flavor.

Junmai Ginjo Nabeshima Kitashizuku (Saga Prefecture/Fukuchiyo Sake Brewery)
``Nabeshima'' is a local sake created in 1998 with the aim of brewing it with rice and water from Saga Prefecture.When you open it, it gives off a light burst of gas and a gorgeous impression.It has a good balance of flavor and sweetness, and has a refreshing taste that complements any dish.

Nichinichi (Kyoto Prefecture/Hichijozo)
Hibi Jozo is a popular Japanese sake brewery founded in 2022 that only brews “Hibi”.There is no indication of the rice polishing ratio, and the type of sake is not disclosed.Made with 100% Yamada Nishiki from Tojo, Hyogo Prefecture, it has a strong presence, so it goes well with hearty meat dishes.
Inherited thoughts and new charm


Mr. Tominaga and Mr. Ito, the owners of Denki Shokudo, took over Denki Shokudo.
A unique masterpiece is born from these two people.I couldn't introduce them all here, but you should definitely order the oden and tempura, which show off the uniqueness of the restaurant.There are no standard eggs or daikon radish in the oden, but instead there are a number of unusual dishes such as raw gluten dengaku, king king king bacon, and warm potato salad.Made with a secret soup stock, this is a dish that goes beyond oden.
Tempura is characterized by a meringue-like batter that is crispy yet melts in your mouth.It is fried at low heat to bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients, and the batter disappears in your mouth, revealing the ingredients.
There is nothing more delicious than eating freshly prepared food while watching the rhythmic skill behind the counter.
