Wakatakeya Sake Brewery
Tanushimaru, Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is a town at the foot of the Minou Mountain Range, where the largest river in Kyushu, the Chikugo River, flows in the vicinity, and the mountains stand like a folding screen.Wakatakeya Sake Brewery has been brewing sake here since 1699 (Genroku 12).
It is said that the first generation Wakatakeya Denbei, who was originally a merchant, was fascinated by sake brewing and borrowed money to build a brewery.Using the mineral-rich Minou-based brewing water that has been pumped from the same well since the first generation, many famous sakes, including Wakatakeya Junmai Ginjo Tani, are produced. .
Also of note are the ``ancient sake'' unique to the same brewery, such as ``Fukuiku Genroku no Sake'' and ``Hakata Renshu,'' which were recreated by the XNUMXth generation brewer after unraveling ancient documents.
