Nigata, Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture.Aihara Sake Brewery was founded in 3 (Meiji 1875) in this small town surrounded by the Seto Inland Sea and three mountains, including the sacred Mt. Noro, known for its most beautiful scenery in Setouchi.Blessed with the subterranean water of Mt. Noro, which is said to be famous for its water, and Nikata Port, which flourished as a key point on the sea route, the brewery grew into one of the prefecture's best breweries before the war.
Aihara Sake BreweryAlthough the company experienced forced closure due to the controlled economy during the war, after its revival, Junichiro Aihara, who became the fifth president of the company in 1988, said, ``I want to make sake that is delicious for people to drink,'' and put ``quality first.'' The brewery was one of the first in the prefecture to become a ginjo brewery focusing on brewing sake with a specific name.
Aihara Sake BreweryThe representative brand, ``Amego no Tsuki,'' was named by the second generation after an essay by the novelist Roka Tokutomi. ``In the sky after the rain, the clear moon shines brightly all around us''...The desire to brew such clear and beautiful sake is still passed on to the brewers today.
Aihara Sake BreweryEach style of ``Amego Tsuki'' has distinct characteristics, such as junmai, ginjo, and junmai daiginjo, but they all share the characteristics of a light, elegant aroma and a smooth, crisp, beautiful finish.It has received high praise, including winning awards in various competitions.
