Long-term low-temperature aged sake that brings out the potential of rice

Founded in 1849, the brewing technology has been cultivated over many years in Nasu Toriyama, Tochigi Prefecture. Using subterranean water that gushes from the foot of Mt. Nasu and high-quality raw rice grown on the pure land, we make sake with great care every day.

The biggest feature is that they produce aged sake that is stored in caves. Since 1970, we have continued to create new flavors as one of Japan's leading long-term aging sake breweries. The cave where it is stored is the remains of an underground factory built at the end of World War II. Approximately 600 bottles of sake are stored in a space with a total length of 10 meters. Aged at low temperatures in a natural environment with no sunlight reaching an average of around 10 degrees per year, old sake has a unique aged aroma and mellow taste, and its depth is surprising. You can enjoy various flavors depending on the aging period, and those that are over 20 years old have a smooth, milk-like finish that exudes dignity.

In addition, the representative brand "Higashi Rikishi" comes from the fact that the second generation who set up the brewery at the current location was an unparalleled fan of sumo. They produce a wide range of sake other than aged sake, such as fruity pure rice, sharp dryness, and mellow nigori.
