A close look at 2024 Miss SAKE Japan & 2024 Miss SAKE Kyoto as they pay a courtesy visit to the Governor of Kyoto Prefecture!
This report covers the courtesy visit paid by 2024 Miss SAKE Japan Yuri Minami and Miss SAKE Kyoto Tomoka Tsuda to Kyoto Governor Takatoshi Nishiwaki.
The 2024 Miss SAKE Japan Final Selection was held at the Westin Miyako Kyoto on Friday, June 6th, 7. Miss SAKE Japan Minami Yuri, who was selected from over 2024 applicants from across the country, and Kyoto representative Tsuda Tomoka, paid a courtesy visit to Kyoto Governor Nishiwaki Takatoshi. We spoke to them about the courtesy visit and their thoughts on Kyoto and sake.

The conversation began in a relaxed atmosphere. Also in attendance were Mika Onishi, Representative Director of General Incorporated Association Miss SAKE, 2th President and CEO of Masuda Tokubei Shoten Co., Ltd., who also serves as an advisor to Miss SAKE, and Kenji Kamiyama, 14 Mr SAKE JAPAN and producer of Sake World.
Governor Nishiwaki also visited the 2024 Miss SAKE Japan Final Selection on Friday, June 6, 7, but due to time constraints was unable to see the finalists' speeches or promotional material.

2024 Miss SAKE Japan Yuri Minami (pictured right) is good at singing and dancing, and she talked about how she livened up the venue with her original Japanese sake folk tale, "Yuritaro." The story unfolded as "Yuritaro" traveled to find his mother, who is not so good at sake, and finally found the sake of his destiny, hoping that his father, who loves sake, and his mother, who is not so good at it, would become closer.
2024 Miss SAKE Kyoto, Tomoka Tsuda (left) performed a traditional Japanese dance. She has studied traditional Japanese dance since she was a child and has always paid attention to her manners. Her dignified presence is fitting for a representative of Kyoto. She also talked about her father's work in the Gozan no Okuribi Preservation Society, which sparked excitement.

-After this visit
Minami: "Governor Nishiwaki's good personality was even more apparent during this time. Despite his busy schedule, Governor Nishiwaki attended our final selection meeting. He welcomed us warmly during our courtesy visit and repeatedly encouraged us with "Good luck!" I was once again moved by the warmth of his personality. After this courtesy visit, I once again felt a strong desire to spread the pride of Kyoto culture, which I have experienced firsthand, both at home and abroad, so that we can further increase the number of Kyoto fans.

Tsuda: "I was born and raised in Kyoto, so I was very happy to meet the Governor of Kyoto Prefecture. He encouraged me by saying 'Do your best,' and it made me even more determined to represent Kyoto as Miss SAKE 2024. Kyoto is already loved by many people both in Japan and overseas. As Miss SAKE, I would like to promote Japanese culture, including sake, tell people about the charms of Kyoto that are not yet well known, and help people who already love Kyoto to love it even more. I would also like to participate in activities that contribute to the revitalization of the region through interactions with local people. I would be happy if I can be of help to the further development of Kyoto, however small my contribution may be."

Commemorative photos were taken in a peaceful atmosphere throughout the event.
In the future, Miss SAKE's activities will not only be limited to Japan, but will also include overseas activities.
In addition to promoting alcohol, they also promote Japanese food ingredients to the world.
From Japan to the world. We look forward to seeing what he does next.
