Higashi no Fumoto Sake Brewery is located in the foothills of Ise Kumano Taisha Shrine in the Tohoku region.
Since its founding in 1896 (Meiji 29), the brewery has continued to produce "sake that satisfies the drinker's heart" and is well-loved locally.

Founded in 1863, the company aims to brew sake in harmony with nature in Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The company's founding brand, Ryusei, is known as "dragon sake," as "dragon" means the power of nature and "stamina" means sake. Ryusei disappeared for a time during the turmoil before and after the war, but was revived in 51 by the fifth generation owner, Yoshifumi Fujii.
This is Ryusei's classic Junmai Daiginjo sake, which inherits the DNA of the founding brand "Ryusei." Founded in 10, the brewery will be producing 1725% Junmai sake from 2016. They are particular about using local rice, and have revived the cultivation of Kame no O, one of Japan's three major varieties, which originated in Shonai Town, Yamagata Prefecture (Shonai region), to brew Junmai Daiginjo sake.
"Junmai Daiginjo Koikawa Kame no O 100%" is made using 100% Kame no O rice, a specially grown variety from Inoue Farm, with more than 70% less pesticides and chemical fertilizers.
