Tadahiro Miyazaki
Profile
After gaining experience as a caregiver, she began operating a private home renovated day care center in Higashi Osaka City in 2011. Currently, she is involved in a wide range of services, including elderly care such as serviced housing for the elderly, residential nursing homes, and day care, as well as services for the disabled and childcare.

1. Sake is like a bridge that connects people

-Please tell us about your relationship with sake.

Miyazaki: "I run a medical and welfare business in Osaka. Because I run a business where people work for people, I interact with many people every day, and I've come to believe that alcohol is an important way to relax."

"Sake shows different faces depending on the season and region, and it can be a great conversation starter or lighten the mood. I feel that a drink with colleagues or friends in particular has the mysterious power to close the gap. To me, sake is like a bridge that connects people."

-Please tell us the process behind producing your original blend of sake.

Miyazaki: "It all started when I wanted to give shape to the connections with people that are the core of my business. When I first heard about the blending technique, I thought it sounded delicate and difficult, but when I actually tried it, I was fascinated by how interesting it was to be able to reflect my own sensibilities and the preferences of others."

-How does it taste?

Miyazaki says, "Not only did the aroma and flavor change, but I also felt that the conversations and smiles of the people there became even richer. The finished sake has a softness and depth, and its appeal changes depending on who you're drinking it with. I hope that this sake will spark communication both inside and outside the company, create new ideas, and create opportunities to share joys and sorrows."

2. Creating new value through human interaction

-What do you think about new initiatives and services like blended sake?

Miyazaki: "When I was studying at a welfare university and did my internship at a day care center, I was reminded of the importance of understanding the needs of the users. Times are changing so quickly that doing the same thing over and over again is no longer what's needed, so I feel it's important to respond to the situation in a rigorous manner."

"I think blended sake is an interesting and innovative idea. I like the fact that it allows you to create flavors and tastes that reflect the historical background and the times."

-I heard that you give them as gifts to your employees and customers. What are your thoughts on this?

Miyazaki: "We're almost out of stock (laughs). It makes a great gift. I've made two varieties, one for the standard and one for summer, but next I'd like to make one for winter. This time it has a light flavor, so next time I'd like to try making it into a richer flavor, like hot sake."

3. A story centered around people

-What are your expectations for blended sake?

Miyazaki: "I want our original sake to tell a story centered around people. I would be happy if it becomes a place where drinkers can naturally converse with each other, sometimes laughing and sometimes encouraging each other. I would like Sake World to serve as a place that connects brewers, drinkers, and the community, and spread the appeal of sake culture in many different ways. I myself would like to create new value through interactions with people and give back to businesses and the community."

The words "people" and "communication" came up a lot in the interview. Blended sake is an item that adds elegance to people and communication, and values communication and makes it smooth.
