Event and brewery opening held on a larger scale than usual

The Fushimi Sake Brewery Association holds the ``Sake Festival'' every March with the hope that ``people can actually visit the sake breweries and historic towns of Fushimi, Kyoto, and experience their charm.'' In 3, the "Fushimi Sake Festival" was held with an expanded area and scale than ever before.

The main venue is Fushimi Port Park, about a 3-minute walk from Keihan Chushojima Station. Numerous food booths were set up around the paid tasting venue, and various events were held on the main stage. In addition, 10 sake breweries will open their breweries all at once in the Fushimi area, which is within a 30-11 minute walk from the main venue. Fushimi Port Park is divided into a paid tasting area and a free admission area. Admission tickets to the paid tasting area are sold out in advance. From morning to afternoon, the event was always lively with 5,000 visitors.

There are 18 types of paid tastings available. You can taste and compare three types of famous sake from Fushimi as well as Kyoto at the same time.

11 breweries in the Fushimi area open all at once! The first joint brewery opening

The opening of each sake brewery was a great success.

Tamanohikari Sake Brewery (Tamanohikari) and Matsuyama Sake Brewery (Jukoku) will hold their first joint brewery opening. The road between the two warehouses was made into a pedestrian paradise, allowing for smooth movement of visitors.

The reason why Ryozo are adjacent to each other is because each land is related to and originated from Gekkeikan. Some visitors were surprised, saying, ``Tamanohikari and Jukoku were so close!''

Tamanohikari Sake Brewery served ``Sparkling Sake,'' which was available only on that day, and Matsuyama Sake Brewery served ``Spring Limited Sake,'' which was released on that day.

At Kitagawa Honke (Tomio) and Kizakura (Kizakura), limited edition sake will be available on the day. A limited number of lucky bags were also sold at Kizakura.

In addition, at Yamamoto Honke (Sacred), you can enjoy a tasting in front of the tank inside the brewery. In addition, special fried chicken from Torisei, a chicken restaurant run by Yamamoto Honke, will also be on sale.

At Gekkeikan, in addition to various tastings, the Sake Uta Preservation Society will perform the ``Motsuzuri Uta''. This song has been sung since ancient times to keep the spirits of sake brewers in sync.

All of the breweries are packed with visitors. Everyone enjoyed opening their breweries in their own way, whether it was by settling down in one brewery or enjoying sake brewed at each brewery.

There will also be food booths, event stages, and simultaneous events that families can enjoy!

Events such as live music and dancing are always held on the stage in the main venue from the opening ceremony at 9:50 a.m. until 16 p.m. There were plenty of food booths around the area, making it a place where both adults and children could have fun.

"NEWTRAD", which appeared at 15:40, is a professional team based in Kyoto. A dance using two ropes called the double dutch excited the audience.

At the food booths, restaurants around the Fushimi area will be serving popular dishes. All of the dishes went well with alcohol and filled the bellies of the attendees.

An event that even non-drinkers can enjoy will be held at the same time at a fair-style venue near the main venue. Various events were also held, such as kasujiru sales and workshops.

A day full of sake and Fushimi

The whole of Fushimi was filled with excitement on the day, including the opening of the brewery and paid tastings at the main venue of the sake festival. It was an event where you could experience the true power of Fushimi and sake. This event should once again be an opportunity for many people to become aware of the charms of Fushimi, Kyoto, including the area surrounding the sake brewery.

Furthermore, although the event centered around alcohol, it included elements that even children and people who cannot drink could enjoy. I think it was a great success in revitalizing the town as a whole as a community. The 2024 Fushimi Sake Festival was expanded in scale from last year.
