Founded in Kakogawa City in 1874 (Meiji 7), Okada Honke continues to preserve its history as the only sake brewery in the city. In 2010, the brewery revived its original brand, "Seiten," and in 2020 won an award for excellence in the warm sake category at the Osaka Regional Taxation Bureau Sake Tasting Competition and a prize at the National New Sake Tasting Competition, earning it high praise for its careful sake brewing. Using 100% underground water from the local Kakogawa River and rice from Hyogo Prefecture, the brewery's two staff members carefully craft this locally produced, fine sake.
"Kintoki Moriten Junmai Daiginjo Bottled Pasteurized Genshu" is a Junmai Daiginjo made with 100% Yamada Nishiki rice from Hyogo Prefecture, bringing out the perfect balance of rice flavor and sweetness. Founded in 1657, Kitagawa Honke is a historic sake brewery that has been making sake in Fushimi since the Edo period.
