Toasting with sake at Kyoto clubs! [WORLD KYOTO] x [Sake World] Vol.5
Kyoto's long-established club [WORLD KYOTO] and [Sake World]. And now, this is the fifth collaboration event, officially co-hosted with the [Kyoto Prefecture Sake Brewing Youth Council]! They are sending out a new culture by combining Kyoto's sake breweries with sake and music.

A sake brewery DJ event held at Kyoto's long-established club [WORLD KYOTO]. The sake breweries themselves act as DJs, and it's an event where you can enjoy music and sake. It's organized by [Sake World], which runs a sake media in Kyoto, [Leaf Publications Co., Ltd./Sake World], [WORLD KYOTO], and 11 member breweries of the [Kyoto Prefecture Sake Brewing Youth Council]. The fifth event, held on November 11nd, was one of the hottest nights in Kyoto, which is in the midst of the tourist season.
Kyoto Prefecture Sake Brewing Youth Council: Kitagawa Honke, Kinoshita Sake Brewery, Gekkeikan, Saito Sake Brewery, Sasaki Sake Brewery, Joyo Sake Brewery, Tamanohikari Sake Brewery, Haneda Sake Brewery, Masuda Tokubei Shoten, Matsui Sake Brewery, Yamamoto Honke (in alphabetical order)
Not only local Japanese people but also foreign tourists gather early in the morning, drawn by the music. With the tourist season in full swing, the town feels bustling.
Kobayashi from [WORLD KYOTO], who is also planning the event together, said, "I recently participated in the Fushimi Sake Festival, which was held on November 11th. I'm completely hooked on sake. I'm happy to be able to have fun here at WORLD KYOTO together with the sake breweries of Fushimi."
"I'm still a bit nervous," said Saito Kou, CEO of Saito Sake Brewery Co., Ltd.
He looks good in his familiar DJ outfit. The way he checks the time of the music in advance makes you feel the same care as when brewing sake. The song selection is a playful mix of Disney songs.
Koji Yamamoto, Managing Director of Yamamoto Honke Co., Ltd. It's hard to believe this is his second time playing.
The venue is also excited.
It was tourist season, and people of all nationalities were seen having fun from early on. They were toasting with sake to the music. This scene doesn't seem out of place in the Kyoto club scene anymore. Sake cocktails are quite popular. The photo shows "Sennen Pirinha," made with Eikun and Koto Sennen. Cocktails from each brewery are available.
Yosuke Haba, President and CEO of Tamanohikari Sake Brewery, said, "I usually DJ at an early hour, but today I'm DJing at a later time, so it's great how the atmosphere is so lively. It's so much fun to DJ with my favorite music and alcohol!"
The charm of Kyoto is that geisha and maiko drop in to play. Everyone is enchanted by the appearance of the geisha.
And for the first time, "Good Luck DJ Mo-chan" also known as Mouri, former editor-in-chief (currently senior director) of Weekly Hotel Restaurant. He is active mainly in Ginza, Marunouchi and Roppongi, and played a series of nice hit tunes with his practiced hands! His luxurious champagne pink kimono was also perfect for the club.
Then, at long last, Masuda Tokubei Shoten Co., Ltd.'s 14th generation president and CEO, Mr. Masuda Tokubei, made his appearance.
The excitement in the venue reached its peak.
A project that started with the question: What about sake in the club scene?
This is the fifth monthly event. "There are more and more opportunities to drink sake at WORLD KYOYO," said Kobayashi. "We will continue to work with the idea of 'injecting sake into the Kyoto club scene,'" said Yamamoto of Yamamoto Honke, chairman of the Kyoto Prefecture Sake Brewing Youth Council.
I am happy that more people share my ideas and are working with me.
The last day of the year is December 12th.
